My name is Karen Lombardi and I am a PhD student at Edith Cowan University studying the body image of very young children. As part of this study, a free resource available to educators online has been developed.  This resource is part of the new SNACPlus nutrition curriculum materials, which can be found at http://snacwa.com.au/

The resource contains professional development for educators and activities for use with children, all linked with the NQS and EYLF, as well as parent engagement activities. As these activities are based on four children’s books, all participating centres will receive a set of children’s books (valued at $60) for free and to keep. These books focus on body image, diversity and connecting with feelings of being hungry and full. I would deliver these books to you. Participating educators would be asked to complete an online survey before using the resource, and again, approximately 6 weeks after having access to the resource.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to email me at k.lombardi@ecu.edu.au or call on 0423 774 349.
