Family Day Care WA members were pleased to have the opportunity to meet and discuss impending funding cuts to services on Monday 13 October with Australian Labor Party representatives – Deputy Leader Tanya Plibersek, WA Senator Sue Lines and Bill Johnston MLA, Member for Cannington.
A presentation from FDCWA President, Sue Fielding highlighted the impact for families, educators, co-ordination units and the community. Further questions were raised by members with the hope of being addressed in the Senate.
Offers of support and examples of personal experience by the ALP representatives emphasized family day care’s long lasting and positive benefits to our community.
“Choice is important in child care, and family day care has to be part of that choice”, Bill Johnston wrote on facebook.
Thank you to Communicare Family Day Care for the venue and organising.
